The Presidential race is a hot topic these days. We are seeing a great divide in the church over which candidate we need to align under. The Apostle Paul reminds us in I Corinthians 1:12 that even the 1st church dealt with aligning it’s sell under different leaders. It seems even today we can lose sight that our trust, faith, and prayers are to Jesus. By no means am I down playing the right to choose and stick with a candidate. I am just saying we can easily lose light of what really matters. Next time division arises over candidates…lets not but unite under Christ. Christ has a much better and bigger plan that any of us can fathom. I have added a clip about Shane Claiborne and his new book entitled “Jesus For President”. I haven’t read it…but I am over the summer months. Feel free to comment on the video.
Tony Campolo is one of the most famous Evangelist from Eastern College in Pennsylvania. This video clip is a great example of what Tony’s priority of helping those in need. He talks a great deal and the 2000 verses in the Bible that deal with helping the poor, oppressed, & justice. I have personally met Tony and love his passion to encourage the church not to forget the to live the mission of Christ. Check out the video…feel free to watch and make any comments.
Many of you know Bono the lead singer from U2. He has been a driving force behind reaching the poor and oppressed in Africa. I love the way this guy presents and challenges the church to stand up for the poor. I may not agree with all of his views, but his actions are rooted in Christ. The video below is great clip of what Bono is doing in Africa, his view of Christians, & his love of Christ. If you’re not a U2 fan you will still blessed to hear his views and convictions on helping the poor and oppressed. Hope you enjoy it and feel free to make a any comments.
Well the team is ready for Tanzania and to begin working with Steve and Marty McFarland. The McFarlands work with Key Connection Ministries in Arusha, Tanzania. It’s been long road of planning and fundraising and we are looking forward to working with them. Our team meets this Sunday, April 27th where will continue to discuss travel details & ministry planning when we work with the McFarlands.
Also we will be starting a 30 days of Prayer for Tanzania. It will start May 11 and will go through June 9th. During the 30 days we will be praying for our missionaries, our team from Crossroads, the country of Tanzania, & ETC. Hope you can join in the 30 days…it will be great way to get involved and see what God is doing in Tanzania.
Sorry it’s been a while since my last post, but here we go. I am reading a book from one of my favorite theologians NT Wright called “Suprised By Hope”. NT makes some great points about the New Testament view of heaven and the afterlife. Check out the link above and the video of him on ABC Nightline. Also you can read more about him on his website at www.ntwrightpage.com.
Feel free to comment on the video…it could make for some real good conversation.
