Finding God In The Homeless

I came across a great post by Jeff Goins called “Finding God In The Homeless”. It really spoke to me as I am planning a trip to Tanzania. Hit the link to see the post.

I also added a video clip which relates to the post by Jeff.

    Hi MIke,
I’m not sure I’ll get a chance to see you again before you leave for Tanzania – but just in case. I hope you all have a great and productive trip.

I was thinking about your post and the plight of the homeless. I’ve been attending a workshop this week by Ken Greene, who is with Central Dallas Ministries. They have one of the largest social service organizations in Texas and they do much to help the poor.

In any case, he has done a great job of reminding us that we are generally way too busy doing church (focusing on Sunday) and not spending nearly enough time and energy helping the poor. I don’t know if EVERYTHING must change as McLaren says, but I think this definitely has to change.

    Thanks,
    Lee

    Mike,
I am pretty sure you could look like a homeless man in two and half days if you do not shave…

I would agree that we need to look into doing something to get our church more active in living out the message of Christ. Thanks for the comment.
